Rapid Tests for Infectious Diseases

Tuberculosis
The new American Bionostica Rapid Test for anti-MTB antibodies is economical, greater than 80% specific and well suited for field use.
TB experts reported:

"Diagnostic tests that improve case detection, either through increased sensitivity, simplified use or expanded patient access, would be a great boon to TB Control efforts."1

Syphilis
American Bionostica recently developed a new, sensitive, 10 minute Rapid Test for antibodies to Syphilis.

CDC reported,"Shortly after infection occurs, the body produces syphilis antibodies that can be detected by an accurate, safe and inexpensive blood test. A low level of antibodies will stay in the blood for months or years even after the disease has been successfully treated".2

  HIV
American Bionostica's Rapid Test for HIV was recently approved by CDC for purchase under USAID funded procurement.
